The company was founded in 1968 as SMIT SHEET METAL DIVIAION working exclusively in the production of  coverings for domestic and industrial buildings; in 1970 it became SO.GE.CO. snc, increasing  its production to the development of press-bent profiles and tinwork.

Continuous research in innovative solutions and constant industrial development has led SO.GE.CO. to establish itself also in the production of prefabricated pieces of various types and dimensions, to the point that it has become a leading Italian company in the prefabricated metal parts sector. 

To support the prefabricated sector and the metal shelving sector for domestic and industrial use, a service centre has been developed inside the company for sheet metal work, equipped with machinery at the forefront of technology for working with coils, strips, sheets, fretwork, corrugated metal, staving, open and press-bent profiles.

In 1997 EMMESSE, the established brand in the production of scaffolding and accessories, spacers, struts and wedges for spacers, became part of the SO.GE.CO. group. It operates at the national level with patents and type-approvals issued by the Ministry of Public Works.

Since 2002, SO.GE.CO.- EMMESSE S.p.A. has been working in their new property, a completely equipped and automated 35,000 m2 structure, in a logistically strategic location. It has a covered mill of about 15,000 m2 with an adjacent office building of about 1700 m2 on three floors, where over 100 employees work. Investment in machinery and systems   make them highly innovative technologically and guarantee that the products going to market are of high quality.
